The cataloging, digitization, and valorization of the cultural heritage of the Municipality of Piacenza, preserved in the Civic Museums and the Passerini-Landi Library, is underway.

The project, implemented thanks to European funding from the Emilia-Romagna Region, began in 2025 and will continue in 2026.

In the summer of 2025, the digitization of some of Palazzo Farnese's treasures began: Space spa professionals are using professional equipment and specialized skills, with a strong focus on conservation, to transform part of the Museums' heritage into digital resources. These resources will then be made available on dedicated platforms for the benefit of the entire community.

In particular, all digitized museum assets will be uploaded with their relevant data sheets to PAtER , the Region's online catalogue.

Regarding the Civic Museums of Palazzo Farnese, the material being restored consists of coins, tombstones, paintings, and two ancient carriages . The latter, in particular, will be digitized in 360° 3D, both inside and out.

This project looks to the future without forgetting our roots, with the aim of preserving and making accessible the cultural memory of the area.
